Universities

Universities are an important partner in FINCIS’s research activities. Co-operation is carried out with researchers and students from different universities, for example, in connection with research projects and visiting lectures.

FINCIS’s research projects involve researchers from different universities bringing their own multidisciplinary expertise and knowledge to research on ethical issues in sports.

In addition to research activities, the co-operation also includes lecture visits, ideas on thesis topics, and offering internships.

FINCIS is involved in the study on the physical activity of children and young people in Finland (LIITU), led by the University of Jyväskylä’s Research Centre for Health Promotion. In FINCIS’s research section, the results of the LIITU study, the reports of the years 2018 and 2020, examine the views of children and young people on the ethical issues of competitive sports, including compliance with the rules, doping, harming others and the safety of sports spectators.
